What do I if a resident is bedridden and can't come to our worship service?
Following Jesus’ command to his disciples to go into towns and villages 2 by 2, you can go with a friend into the rooms of the residents. It's important you comply with the policies at your nursing home before entering a room, such as asking permission from the facility director. When visiting a resident, you can sing hymns, provide a short message, mingle, and ask them for prayer requests. Usually one person will give a short 3-minute message that both visitors have prepared beforehand. Depending on the size of the room, you can sometimes have as many as 4 people inside this mini-service: speaker, singer, and 2 helpers.
